Maria Elena Garza

Maria Elena Garza, age 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. Maria was born March 30, 1942 in Robstown, Texas. She courageously and fearlessly fought cancer for more than 15 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sipriano Garza, Sr. and her mother, Aurora Guajardo.

She is survived by her four sons, Cipriano Garza, Jr., Noe I. (Karen) Garza, Orlando (Linda) Garza all of Bishop, Texas, and Daniel Garza of Navasota, Texas; two sisters, Ninfa De La Vina of Kingwood, Texas and Dora Garcia of Cypress, Texas; one brother, Juan (Maria) De La Garza of Corpus Christi, Texas; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 12, 2022 at St. James Catholic Church, Bishop, Texas. Rites of Christian Burial will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Maria Gutierrez, her provider, along with Tia Ninfa, Tia Dora, and Linda Garza for their loving support and care they provided with her through-out the years.

Graciously serving as pallbearers; Israel Garza, Rene Garcia, David De La Vina, Jr., Noe Garza, Jr., Issac Garza, and Brandon Garza.
