Maria Delia Lopez

Maria Delia Lopez, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 in Alice, Texas. She was born February 17, 1934 in Alice, Texas to Victoriano and Maria V. Cavazos.

She was a Dental Assistant for Dr. Billings and Dr. Naugher. She then became a Teacher’s Aide for 30 plus years for Agua Dulce I.S.D.

She was a loving mother, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Angelito P. Lopez; sisters, Olivia C. Valdez, Minerva C. Deanda and Esperanza Cavazos; brothers, Jesus Cavazos and Victoriano Cavazos, Jr.

She is survived by her daughters, Belinda Lopez of Corpus Christi, Texas, Cynthia Lopez of Converse, Texas and Norma (Joe) Munoz of Green Acres, Texas; lifelong friend, Betty De Lorenzo of Corpus Christi, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Holmgreen Mortuary. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church. Christian Burial will follow at Alice Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Delia’s caregiver and friend, Norma Herrera and Premier of Alice for the special love and care shown to their mother during this time.
