Maria Platina "Patty" Villalobos

Maria Platina “Patty” Villalobos, age 67, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 in Alice, TX. She was born on May 20, 1954 in Hidalgo Tamaulipas, Mexico to Alejos Tovar and Felipa Cantu Glimaldo.

Patty was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who enjoyed caring for her family. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She was a faithful member St. Joseph Catholic Church. She especially loved spending time with her granddaughters, cooking, going shopping, and talking to her friends.

Patty was proud of her Mexican Heritage and never forgot where she came from. But best of all was the way she treated everyone’s children as if they were her own. Maria was a big football fan, loved her Alice Coyotes and Green Bay Packers. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents

Patty is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Elias Villalobos; children, Lydia (Aaron) Garcia and Miguel Alejandro Villalobos all of Alice, TX; grandchildren, Mileena Rae Garcia and Lily Faith Villalobos; sisters, Maria Luisa (Jose) Tovar Ramirez of Ciudad Miguel Aleman, Mexico, Maria Esperanza Tovar Cantu of Monterey Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and Marianela (Felix) Hernandez of Weslaco, TX; brothers, Pilar Tovar Cantu and Jose Tovar Cantu both of Hidalgo Tamaulipas, Mexico.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St., Alice, Tx. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 16, 2021.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 17, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, celebrant, Father Chris Becerra. A Christian Burial will follow at Roberson Collins Cemetery.
