Mary Lou Meyer

Mary Lou Meyer, age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 1, 2024 in Alice, Texas. She was born on November 10, 1940 to Paul and Katherine Looka in Robstown, Texas.

Mary Lou loved cooking, painting, sewing, and fishing. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters Association and a devoted parishioner of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church for 52 years.

She is preceded in death by her Husband Roy E. Meyer; her parents, Paul H. Looka and Katherine C. Looka.

Loved ones left to cherish her memories are her brother Larry (Jeanette) Lee Looka; her sons Joe (Connie) Meyer and Darryl Meyer; daughters Melinda (Ken) Planchard and Brenda (David) Blaylock; her grandchildren Leslie (Brad) Meyer Daughtry, Adrianne (Trayden) Staton, Peyton Planchard, Brandon Planchard, Kyle Meyer, Hannah Meyer, Arin Blaylock and Brooklyn Blaylock; and great-grandchildren Bowen Staton and Charlotte Daughtry.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:15 PM on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Holmgreen Mortuary 2061 E. Main Street Alice, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church located at 603 E 5th St, Alice, Texas. Celebrant, Father Zerr. Fellowship and family and friends’ luncheon will be at the Parish Hall immediately following the Mass. Procession will begin at 12:30 PM to St Anthony’s Cemetery in Violet, Texas for Christian Burial.
