Maxie E. West

Maxie E. West, aged 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 17, 2022 in Kingsville, Texas. Maxie was born on January 7, 1930, in San Antonio, Texas to Edwin Bertie West and Lillian Catherine Webber.

Maxie proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and a Boy Scout Leader where he served in many different capacities. Maxie was a long-time parishioner and lector at St. Gertrude the Great Catholic Church.

Maxie retired from Celanese Chemical Plant where he was employed for many years. He and his late wife, Dean, enjoyed traveling, making wine, and were members of the Tejas Dance Group in Riviera, Texas.

Maxie was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Dean West; and daughter, Debbie Rogers.

He is survived by his loving children, Gary West of Mathis, Texas, Sharon West Criscione of New Braunfels, Texas, David West of Bulverde, Texas, and Carol West of Kingsville, Texas; grandchildren, Amanda, Daniel, Chris, Bruce, Brian, Brandi, and Brett; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Knapp of Bishop, Texas; and brother, Bert West of New Braunfels, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM on Monday March 21, 2022, at St. Gertrude the Great Catholic Church, 1120 S. 8th St., Kingsville, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at St. Gertrude the Great Catholic Church with a Graveside Service with Military Honors to be held at 2:00 PM at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.
