Melissa Joy Rouse

Melissa Joy Rouse, age 46, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021 in Alice, TX. She was born on October 19, 1974 in Corpus Christi, TX to Oscar Ramirez, Sr. and Irma Garcia.

Melissa was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who enjoyed caring for her family. She was always willing to volunteer her time at school, or church. She was a member of the PTA and a CCD Teacher at St. Elizabeth Church. She loved spending the day at the beach, going fishing or boating at the lake, she was always ready to go traveling and camping and her beloved fur baby, “Shadow.” Melissa was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Tomas and Maria Ramirez; maternal grandparents, Domingo and Herlinda Garcia; and father-in-law, Walter Rouse.

Melissa is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, John Rouse and son, Hunter Douglas Rouse both of Alice, TX; her little Yorkie, Shadow; parents, Oscar (Dora) Ramirez, Sr. and Irma Garcia; brother, Oscar Ramirez, Jr.; stepsister, Kimberly Henderson; stepbrother, Samuel Henderson all of Corpus Christi, TX and stepbrother, Ross (Jordan) Henderson of Italy; mother-in-law, Nelda Rouse of Alice, TX; and step-nephew newborn, Barrett Henderson; nieces and nephews, Katelyne Ramirez, James Ramirez, Adelaide Cavazos, Miranda Rouse, Dustin Rouse, and Roen Ramon; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
