Mildred Charleen Neal, age 91, passed away Wednesday January 25, 2023 peacefully at her home after a short illness. She was born March 30, 1931 in Gainesville, TX to Wayne Rayford Stanley and Pearlie Irene Hall. She was one of three siblings. On April 5, 1947 she married the love of her life, Donald Lewis Neal. Together they had three sons, Donald Wayne Neal, Steven Michael Neal, and Timothy Michael Neal. They were married 64 wonderful years before his passing in February 2011. They moved to Alice in 1964 where her husband worked in the oilfield until his retirement. She was a devout Christian, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved cooking and baking for her family. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden. She loved to help care for all her grandchildren. She always said they were the light of her life.
When her children were growing up, she was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and a Sunday School teacher. She also helped with RA-GA kid's camp at the Baptist Church. She was a care giver having had a part in helping to raise three generations in her family. She earned the love and respect that her family had for her. She will be truly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Pearlie Stanley; one brother, Wayne Stanley Jr.; one sister, Mona Joyce lnterwitz; two sons, Donald Wayne Neal, Steven Michael Neal, and one grandson, Adam Neal
She is survived by one son, Timothy Michael (Catherine) Neal; daughters-in- law, Jacqueline Susan Neal and Leah Ann Neal; brother-in-law, Jack Neal, grandchildren, Trisha (Craig} Erndt, Stephanie Michelle Neal, Summer (Jason} Oswald; great grandchildren, Haley (Chris) Weinkauf, Jerry Neal, Ashton Neal, Kristin Neal, Cole Erndt, Reese Oswald, Collin Oswald; great-great grandchildren, K'dyn M. Neal, and two expected this year and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Holmgreen Mortuary. A Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Holmgreen Mortuary. Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the New Resthaven Cemetery in Gainesville, Texas.
