Nathan "Skeeter" Tinney Obituary

Nathan E. (Skeeter) Tinney, Jr., age 71, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born May 22, 1951 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Nathan E. Tinney and Millie Monday Tinney.

Skeeter married Mary (Olsovsky) Tinney on July 19, 1980 and they were married for 42 years.

He faithfully and loyally worked for Delaune Drilling Service in Alice, Texas for over 47 years. He was very proud of that long relationship with people he considered family.

He attended Dallas Baptist University and Texas A&I on track scholarships. He especially loved hunting and fishing trips with his friends as well as his trips to Nevada and Louisiana to play blackjack.

Skeeter was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan E. Tinney and Millie Monday Tinney; nephew, David James Vrazel; in-laws, Louis J. and Marion Olsovsky; sister-in-law, Jean Olsovsky Adams and brother-in-law, Eugene Adams

Skeeter is survived by his wife, Mary Tinney; sister, Charlotte (Philip) Vrazel; godchildren, Nathan (Romy) Timmons and their children Madison, Cameron and Peyton, Mathew (Kelly) Timmons and their children Emily and Luke.

He is survived by his brother-in-law, Jimmy (Tricia) Olsovsky; nieces, Kimberly (John) Hayes and Jennifer (Ryan) Baldwin; sisters-in-law, Janet (Lyle) Pfost; nephew, Bryan (Donna) Lewis and Judy Olsovsky; nephews, Toby (Marci) Grubert and Todd (Taryn) Grubert and several great nephews and nieces.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel, 2061 E. Main St. Alice, Texas, 78332. Burial will follow at a later date at Roselawn Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 East Main Street, Alice, Texas.
