Nettie Cornelius

Nettie Ruth Cornelius, age 89 passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was born May 15, 1934 to Beacher and Elenora Williams in Karnes City, Texas. She was oldest of ten children.

Nettie married Marlin F. Koerth and they had four children together Marlin Dale, Daniel Ray, Lloyd Duane and Ruth Ann. Later she married Floyd Cornelius. He passed away in 2012.

She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for over 60 years. She had also been involved in Petroleum Wives, Garden Club and Habitat for Humanity. She was an advocate for Alzheimer’s Awareness.

She was preceded in death by Marlin Koerth. Floyd Cornelius; son, Marlin Dale Koerth and brother, James Williams.

Nettie is survived by her children, Daniel Ray Koerth, Lloyd Duane Koerth, Ruth Ann (Rye) Brower; siblings, Albert (Janet) Williams, Betty Skidmore, Fred (Linda) Williams, Vivian Johnson, Chuck (Elaine) Williams, Dolley Zavesky, Wanda Herber (Claude Frank) and Lynne (Brad) Arvin; close friend and companion, John Martin; other special friends, JoAnn Hammock, Nora Gonzalez, Nelda Boerm and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, October 30, 2023 at Holmgreen Mortuary. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alice, Texas. A Graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM at the Kenedy Cemetery in Kenedy, Texas.
