Oda B. Buegeler, age 103, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 in San Diego, TX. She was born in Sisterdale, TX on October 16, 1917 to Erich August Fischer and Olga Anna Habinicht.
She was a long-time member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church where she served in the Alter Guild, Lydia Circle, and volunteered for many years at Alice Trash and Treasure. Oda enjoyed gardening, needle work, crocheting, and cross-stitching.
She was always taking in and caring for sick animals, and rehabilitating them back to good health. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Oda was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 56 years, Elbert L. Buegeler, Sr.; siblings, Richard Fischer, Elfreida Fischer Mary Lee Franke, William Fischer, Clara Esch, Erich “Sonny” Fischer, and Louise Hoel.
Oda is survived by her loving son, Elbert (Laurie) Buegeler, Jr. of Alice, TX; grandchildren, Elbert L. (Krista) Buegeler III of New Braunfels, TX and Charles Brady (Natalin) Buegeler of Waxahachie, TX; great-grandchildren, Braden Cole Buegeler, Hudson Pierce Buegeler, Holden Crew Buegeler, Jackson Trevor Buegeler, Parker Joseph Buegeler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family receiving friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Holmgreen Mortuary, located at 2061 E. Main St. Alice, TX. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 15, 2021, at Immanuel Lutheran Church officiated by Reverend Gilbert Franke. Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX.
Serving as Pallbearers, Elbert L. Buegeler III, Charles Brady Buegeler, Stuart Franke, William Hoel, Don Fischer, and Bob Fischer.
