Olga Norton Obituary

Olga Garcia Norton was the epitome of a strong independent woman. On Monday, October 21st, 2024, surrounded by prayers and love, her sons at her bedside, and a room full of loved ones, she took her last breath, passing peacefully and we are sure opening her eyes in heaven. Our hearts felt the impact of realization that we are now living in a world without her light. She was a mother, a sister, a tia, a friend. She would always say people either love me and think I am kindest most generous person you will ever meet, or they think I am mean, they are both right. Her infectious laughter would always follow that statement, resonating throughout the room, and now the memory of that moment is leaving our hearts heavy at the thought of never hearing it again.

She was the love of our life, the matriarch of her family; she was the undisputed champion of scrabble, and the definition of a selfless woman. Working multiple jobs at a time to provide for her precious boys. She was best known for her time at the Jim Wells County Justice of the Peace office, where she retired from, after decades of service. Olga was our Proverbs 31 woman in the flesh, her generosity was unmatched, and her wit kept everyone around her on their toes, and above all the example she was as a person will live on through her remaining sons. Her finger prints will never fade from the lives that she touched.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, her sisters, numerous brothers and sisters, her three sons, Gilberto Davila Jr. , Ricardo Davila, and Daniel Davila.

She is survived by her beloved sons, David Davila of Corpus Christi, and Michael Norton (Jennifer) of Alice, her "Ruth" like daughter in law, Hilda Gonzalez Davila, as well as, her brother, Arturo (Gladys) Garcia of Corpus Christi, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
