Pat L. Bernsen

Pat L. Bernsen passed away peacefully at her home in Alice, TX on December 18, 2023. She was born March 10, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri to John J. and Ruth F. Liesenfeld. Pat graduated with a registered nursing degree from Incarnate Word Academy and worked as a nurse for many years. She was a farm wife and mother of four. Pat also held an English degree and Masters of Psychology. She was known for her giving and kind spirit and will be most dearly missed.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice B. Bernsen; daughter, Molly Bernsen; parents; brothers, John Liesenfeld and Bill Liesenfeld; and sister, Marybeth L. Good.

Pat is survived by her children, Maurice J. Bernsen, Ted Bernsen (Tammy) both of Alice and Susan B. Umphres (Bill) of Sandia. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Lindsay (Brandon) Wardlaw, Katy Springs, Leisel B. Kirsch (Justin), Jared Bernsen, Gretchen Bernsen, and William (Teddy) Bernsen, as well as two great-grandchildren, Arden and Kohen Springs, and many nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law.

Serving as pallbearers are Jared Bernsen, William (Teddy) Bernsen, Aaron Good, Justin Kirsch, Olan Moore, and Bill Umphres.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 East Main Street, Alice, Texas. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday, December 29, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Church, 603 E. Fifth St., Alice, Texas. Rites of Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Alice, Texas.
