Ramon Godines, Sr., passed away at his home surrounded by his loving wife of 64 years, Elodia Godines, and his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He worked as a truck driver in the oil field industry for many years. Born on August 9, 1935 to the late Victoriano Godines and the late Rosaura Godines. He attended St. Peters Catholic Church in Ben Bolt, TX, where he was a choir member.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Ramon Godines, Jr.; great-grandson, Florencio Gabie Hinojosa VI; siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ramon is survived by his wife, Elodia Godines; daughters, Rosie (Jesse) Villarreal, Molly (Eli) Cordova, and Letty (Andy) Villarreal, all of Alice; sons, the late Ramon (Noemi) Godines, Jr., Jose M. (Maria) Godines of Alice, and David (Marie) Godines of Corpus Christi, TX; nineteen grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
Popo never once met a person that he didn’t like. He knew many, and many knew him. He was truly loved.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, led by Father Jaison. A Chapel Service will be held at 3:30 PM officiated by Bro. Jonathan Fuentes. All services will conclude at the chapel.
