Raul Juarez, Sr., age 83, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 10, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Alice, Texas on November 19, 1935 to Herminia and Pablo F. Juarez.
Raul was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He worked as a carpenter most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, riding horses, playing bingo, dominos, and card games. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, great-grandkids, and all of his family.
Raul was received in Heaven by his parents, Pablo and Sabas Juarez and Herminia and Juan Zamora; his brothers, Pablo Juarez, Jr., Esiquio Juarez, Jose Luis Ordonez, and Alberto Garcia.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, especially his loving wife of 61 years, Olaya Ramos Juarez; his children, Fidela (Juan) Alonzo of Alice, Raul, Jr. (Norma) Juarez of Ben Bolt, and Heron (Adriana) Juarez of Ben Bolt; his grandchildren, Patricia (Elias) Bernal of Orange Grove, Priscilla Alonzo (John Michael Garza) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Juan “JJ” (Nicole) Alonzo, Jr. of Alexandria, Virginia, Celeste Juarez of Fort Worth, Viviana Juarez of Ben Bolt, and Jacinto Juarez of Ben Bolt; his great-grandchildren, Carma Bernal, Kaleigh Garza, Joaquin Garza, Saile Bernal, and Rlee Bernal; his siblings, Felipe Juarez of Geronimo, Oklahoma, Fernando (Lupe) Juarez of Alice, Frank (Alma) Juarez of Alice, Guillermo (Irma) Pena of Ben Bolt, Juan Zamora, Jr. of Alice, and Antonio (Belinda) Zamora of Ben Bolt; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2019 at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel with Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Alice with Father Julian officiating.
Interment will follow at Alice Cemetery in Alice.
Arrangements are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St., Alice, Texas.
