Richard L. Miller, Sr., passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019. He was 57 years old.
He was born on March 22, 1962 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin to Elizabeth (Schuller) and William Allen Miller.
Richard was a Major with the Jim Wells County Sheriff’s Department for almost 20 years. After his career with the sheriff’s office, he then became Security Director for Covance Clinical Research - Alice Facility.
He enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing and camping, barbecues with family, and going to Coushatta to gamble. Above all, his grandchildren were first and foremost as he loved attending all of their school and sports activities and spending as much time with them as he could.
Richard was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be dearly missed by his children, Carrie (Walter) Golding and Richard “Bubba” (Brandi) Miller, all of Orange Grove, Texas; his three grandchildren, Jordan Golding, Tarrant Golding, and Jude Golding; and his brother, Robert “Bob” (Michelle) Miller of Oregon; his niece, Jamie (Ernest) Morgan of Orange Grove, Texas, and his nephew, William “Billy” (Rachel) Miller of Dallas, Texas.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel in Alice, Texas with Pastor William Allen Miller, III officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 East Main Street, Alice, Texas.
