It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Robert Tijerina Alvarez, Jr., on Thursday, April 3, 2025, in Alice, Texas. He was born on December 18, 1966, in Fairfield, California, to Robert Alvarez, Sr., and Elvira Soliz.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He attended Coachella High School in California and Ben Bolt-Palitio Blanco High School. He will always be remembered as a generous and gentle soul. If you had the pleasure of dining with him and Melissa you know what a great cook he was. Robert was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed taking trips, spending time with his family, working on his motorcycle, and spending quality time with his grandchildren. His loss was sudden but his love, laughter and legacy will last us all a lifetime.
Robert was a wonderful husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend who will forever be remembered for his infectious smile and hardy laugh. He was truly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Robert is preceded in death by his mother, Elvira Soliz; and father-in-law, Arnoldo Cadena.
Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his wife, Melissa Cadena Alvarez; sons, Robert Timothy Alvarez (Sable), Michael Christian Alvarez and Ryan Joseph Alvarez; father, Robert T. Alvarez (Aida); siblings, Thelma Aguirre, Gilbert Esquivel, Erica Macias, Aaron Lozano, Jessica Garza, and Monica Alvarez; mother-in-law, Gloria Cadena, brothers-in-law, Adrian Cadena and Arnoldo Cadena; grandchildren, Ezekiel Mateo Alvarez and Robert Timothy Alvarez, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM with Military Honors to be held and 11:30 AM at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St. Alice, TX 78332. All services will conclude at the funeral home.
