Roger Behrens

Roger Behrens, age 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 28, 2021 in Alice, TX. He was born on January 28, 1932 in Robstown, TX to Esedor (Slim) Behrens and Nolie (Nona) Von Ruff Behrens.

Roger proudly served in the United States Army after graduating high school. He married the love of his life, the late Emma Joan, in 1956. Roger worked for CPL/AEP for 40 years until his retirement.

After he retired, he enjoyed making wooden yard art, he coached girls-softball, and traveling in his RV all over the United States, Alaska, and Canada. He loved having his family over every Friday night for many years.

Roger was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, and friend. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Emma Joan Behrens; and daughter, Sherri Gale Behrens.

Survivors left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Brenda (Ray) Brown and Debbie (Amadeo) Guerra; grandchildren, Chris (Lisa) Weir, Kyle (fiancé Cheyenne Garcia) Weir, and Katrina (Steven) Martinez; step-granddaughters, Stephanie Russell, and Rayena (ED) Galbraith; great-grandchildren, Ryan Martinez, Rylee Weir, Hannah Martinez, Waylon Weir, Zachariah Martinez, and step great-grandson, Boe Galbraith; step great-great granddaughter, Carson Sheehan; sister, Geri Valenta; and one sister-in-law, Betty Webster, as well as numerous nieces
and nephews.

Family will be receiving friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St. Alice, TX. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel; Pastor John Hayden officiant. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
