Rosa Irma Fair

Rosa Irma Fair, age 75, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 in Alice, Texas. She was born October 9, 1946 in Laredo, Mexico to Jose Pilar Tabares and Trinidad Zamarripas.

Rosa was born and raised in Mexico. While working in Texas, she met ‘Billy’ and fell in love at first sight. They were married within one year. They celebrated their beautiful wedding in Mexico City. They moved to Alice, Texas where they built their life together.  She was known for her homemade Mexican cuisine; which Billy always enjoyed. Any friends and family were always welcomed with a home cooked meal. She was the best sister, aunt, and mother but her most proud title was Abuela.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Pilar Tabares and Trinidad Zamarripas; sister, Yolanda Richter; brothers, Homero Tabares, Federico Tabares, and Reynaldo Tabares.

Rosa is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, William Yale Fair, Jr.; daughter, Madeline Rosa (Matthew) Glass of League City, Texas; son, Jose (Priscilla) Pilar Tabares of San Antonio, Texas; sister; Maria Tabares of Alice, Texas; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emeline, and Landon Glass all of League City, Texas, Lauren Tabares and Christopher Mijares, both of San Antonio, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, April 25, 2022 at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St. Alice, Texas. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 1:30 PM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 801 S Reynolds St, Alice, TX 78332. All services will conclude at the church. A Christian Burial will be held at a later date.

Serving as pallbearers will be; Jose Pilar Tabares, Christopher Mijares, Cirildo "Lilo" Garcia, Matthew Glass, Jack Mix, and Jason Wright.

Arrangements are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 East Main Street, Alice, Texas.
