Rosa Maria Perez

Rosa Maria “Rosie” Perez, loving mother, grandmother, and sister passed into her eternal life on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at the age of 64, surrounded by the love that she had nurtured throughout her life. She was born on July 6, 1960 to Carlos S. Gonzalez, Jr. and Emma Longoria Gonzalez in Alice, Texas.

Rosie is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her three “precious gems,” Michelle P. Mellott (Eric) of McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania, Tiffany D. Perez (Tara) of San Antonio, and Amy N. Perez (Marco Vega) of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Ethan Perez, Miley Vega, Charlotte Hammett, Justin “JG” Vega, and Lyric “Moonpie” Perez. She is also survived by her brothers, Rolando Gonzalez (Trish), Carlos Gonzalez, III (Cheryl) and Ruben Gonzalez (Estella) along with many nephews and nieces.

Rosie knew no stranger. Known for her joyful personality, generous heart, and infectious laugh, she brightened the lives of everyone around her. Rosie spent her life working in the office supply industry, where she loved chatting with her customers. A huge fan of Buc-ee's, she often coerced family into bringing her a shirt with every visit. Rosie was an avid Alice Coyotes fan and loved to attend football games with her parents. Recently, her love of high school football was reignited with being able to watch her grandson Ethan and nephew Gabriel play. If there was something to cheer about, count her in! Rosie also found joy in crafting memorials for her parents and attending Sunday breakfast club with her Class of 78’ high school friends. Though she has left this world, her laughter, love, and spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 5:00pm-9:00pm at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel in Alice, Texas with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 10:00am at St. Michael Archangel in Banquete, Texas. A luncheon will be held at Holmgreen Mortuary after the Funeral Mass.Her final resting place will be held at a later date in Alice Cemetery, lovingly placed between her parents, where she can continue to watch over her family with a smile.
