Ruby Rae Reeves Lewis, 92, passed away peacefully in Calallen, TX on October 24, 2021. She was born in Anna Rose, TX on July 17, 1929 to Henry Reeves and Alice Davidson Reeves.
Ruby grew up in Anna Rose, TX and was raised a country girl. Hard times were no stranger to her. She loved outdoors and loved to ride horses.
Ruby was a mother and housewife in her early years then took on the world. She was a Pioneer for women in the oilfield industry. A proud owner and operator of Ruby’s Hot Shot Service in the 1970’s and 80’s.
When sitting at her home on any given day whether it was a Dallas Cowboys game on her TV or soap operas, her beautiful plants, her many cats, and her precious dog, “Patches,” and her stories of family that had preceded her all lead your heart to who she truly was. Ruby, or better known as “Mom or Grandma Ruby,” loved her family. She loved spending time with her kids. Ruby was a member of the West Main Baptist Church and loved to tend to her plants.
Ruby spent a lot of time with her elderly parents and cared for them until they passed away. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Mary Lou Norton, Tom Reeves, and Jim Reeves.
Ruby is survived by her sister, Faye Clark; children, Linda (Dean) Risinger of Alice, TX, Clifton (Patty) Lewis of Leakey, TX, Michael (DeAnna) Lewis of Inez, TX, and James (Diane) Lewis of Alice, TX; grandchildren, Rhonda, Jim Bob, Bryan, Will Kristin, Ali, Jim, Sarah, and Travis; and great-grandchildren, Lindsey, McKayla, Dakota, Wes, Maverick, Hayden, Presley, Dani Hattielou, Alex, Clifton, Brylee, Grace, Grant, Claire, and Brody.
Family will be receiving friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Holmgreen Mortuary. A Chapel Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Holmgreen Mortuary. Burial will follow at Alice Cemetery.
