Ruth Gwendolyn "Gwen" (Cochran) Brandt

Ruth Gwendolyn “Gwen” Cochran Brandt, born on June 3, 1932, was called to her eternal home on September 8, 2019, at the age of 87.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Cecil H. Brandt; her parents, Emmitt and Goldie Cochran; her mother- and father-in-law, Edwin and Myrtle Brandt; four sons, Darrell, Wade, Rusty, and Jimmy Brandt; two grandsons, Chance and Tyler Brandt; two brothers, Coy and Clovis Cochran.

She is survived by two sons, Roy (Sharie) Brandt of Boerne, Texas and Willie (Julie) Brandt of Aransas Pass, Texas; three daughters, Darlett (Roel) Valadez of Alice, Texas, Cheryl (Tommy) Calvez of Agua Dulce, Texas,  and Janette Brandt of Corpus Christi, Texas; one sister, Alice (Kenneth) Brown of Brady, Texas; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchilden, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth was a devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, who will be missed by all. She knew her Lord and Savior well, and will be reunited in glory with family and friends who went before her.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel in Alice, Texas.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Abel Almendarez officiating.

Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Alice, Texas. Pallbearers will be Jason Calvez, J. R. Valadez, Danny Calvez, Mark Valadez, Clint Brandt, Shane Brandt, Ryan Brandt, and Michael Valadez.

Arrangements are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St., Alice, Texas.
