Sarah Margaret Sandell

Sarah Margaret Sandell, age 106, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 4, 2024 in Mathis, Texas. She was born in Sandia, Texas to Ellis and May Gorbet.

Margaret enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting. She also had been a post master for the Agua Dulce post office. Margaret loved fishing at her camp and was an expert Domino player!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon Martin; son, Lelwyn Martin and siblings, Ellene Hoke, Daniel Gorbet, Leroy Gorbet, Inez Klatt and Everett Gorbet.

Margaret is survived by her son, Melwyn Roy (Billye) Martin; daughter-in-law, Jessie Martin; 3 grandchildren, Wade (Nanette) Martin, Delene (J.D.) Glasscock and Roy (Stacey) Martin and 6 great-grandchildren.

A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E Main St, Alice, Texas 78332. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Arrangements are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 East Main Street, Alice, Texas.
