Sylvia Jimenez Obituary

In Loving Memory of Sylvia Munoz-Jimenez

A Life Well-Lived and Beautifully Remembered

Sylvia Muñoz-Jimenez, a radiant spirit known for her beauty, brilliance, and quick wit, passed peacefully into eternal life on April 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 77 years old. A longtime resident of Corpus Christi, Texas, Sylvia lived a life rich in love, laughter, great food, and an unshakable loyalty to the burnt orange pride of the University of Texas. Her legacy is one of joy, wisdom, and grace—and will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Born with a mind as sharp as her humor, Sylvia graduated as Valedictorian of the 1965 class of Agua Dulce High School. She went on to fulfill her dream of becoming a pharmacist, earning her pharmacy degree from the University of Texas School of Pharmacy in 1971. Sylvia’s intelligence and dedication served her well throughout her distinguished career, including many years in the Spohn Healthcare System and later as Director of Pharmacy at Driscoll Children’s Hospital, where her compassion touched countless lives. But Sylvia’s most cherished role was that of mother and grandmother. She poured her heart into her family, offering boundless love, gentle strength, and unwavering support. She was the steady hand, the warm hug, the witty storyteller, and the first to cheer on every success.

Sylvia is survived by her beloved son, Ricardo Daniel Salinas of Corpus Christi, Texas, and her adored granddaughters, Ashley Salinas, Miceala Salinas, and Victoria Webb, who brought her endless pride and joy. She also leaves behind her dear sisters Ernestina Briseno (Alvaro+) and Hilda M. Garza (Joe Frank), as well as her beloved great aunt Enedina Garcia (Santos+), and a large extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends whose lives were brightened by her presence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Ester Muñoz; her husband, Manuel (Meme) Jimenez; and her siblings, Carmen Stonecipher, Margaret T. Lopez, and Daniel Aguilera.

Sylvia’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to CHOICE Hospice of Corpus Christi for their exceptional care and compassion throughout her illness.
