Tom E. Reeves, age 87, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, May 12, 2020.
Tom was born in Anna Rose, Texas on August 10, 1932 to Alice and Henry Reeves. He met Mattie in Balmorhea in 1951 and they married. Tom was soon drafted into the U. S. Army and was stationed at Ft. Lewis in Washington State. He drove a dynamite truck, farmed, delivered butane and later started Reeves Construction Company. He built water troughs, dipping vats, and cisterns on farms and ranches throughout South Texas for over 30 years. He was horseman, a hunter, and a genuine cowboy who also loved to dance.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Mattie Reeves; his son, Tommy Reeves; his brothers, Jim and Will, and his sister, Lou.
Tom leaves behind to cherish his memories, his two daughters, Kathy (Wayne) Westbrook of Sandia, Texas and Leann (James) Zezula of Austin, Texas; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his two sisters, Ruby Lewis of Alice, Texas and Faye Clark of Bay City, Texas, as well as many cherished friends.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be offered to First Baptist Church, 501 E. Second St., Alice, Texas 78332.
Arrangements are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St., Alice, Texas.
