Truett Lloyd Thomas, age 76, was called home on Sunday, August 7, 2022 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born December 23, 1945 in Alice, Texas to Lloyd S. Thomas and Leslie Mumme Thomas.
Truett was preceded in death by his parents.
Truett graduated from Orange Grove High School in 1964. He loved his family above all things. He spent his life making memories with his family and helping out in whatever way he could. He served his community as the mayor of Orange Grove for eighteen years. Truett was involved in various church committees, taught Sunday School, and coached Little League. He spent his career as an oilfield supply manager working for Redman Pipe & Supply Company. Since retiring, he spent his time caring for grandchildren and working on his property. He was known for early mornings drinking coffee at Stripes followed by breakfasts at the café with his friend group.
He is survived by his children, Nathan Truett (Mika Renee) Thomas of Dallas, Texas and Sandy Laraine (Karl) Clark of Orange Grove, Texas; grandchildren, William Nathan Thomas, Elliott Nicole Thomas, Brooke Lynn Gallimore, Ethan Thomas Gallimore, and numerous cousins and friends. In addition, he was survived by his long-time special friend, Altie Fuhrken of Orange Grove, Texas.
The love he had for his family was the greatest joy of his life. Honored to serve as his pallbearers will be Ethan Gallimore, Tylor Barr, Garrett Bates, Byler Engelking, David Gebert, Allen Ardoin, Larell Meischen, and Justin Pressley. Honorary pallbearers will be David Pressley, James Calloway, Tim Young, Bubba Cude, Henry Happner, and Jerry McCulloch.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St, Alice, Texas. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 1st Evangelical Lutheran Church in Orange Grove, Texas. All services will conclude at the church.
