Ty Joseph Pressley entered the gates of heaven at the age of 19 on November 22, 2023. Ty was a beloved son, brother, grandson, great-grandson, nephew, and friend.
Ty was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on August 23, 2004, to the parents of Justin and Katheryne Pressley. He grew up in Sandia, Texas and was a 2022 Orange Grove High School Graduate. At the age of 9, Ty accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and was baptized on December 15, 2013. He and his family were and are still active members at The Grove First Baptist Church. Ty enjoyed playing multiple sports, but his passion was always basketball. Ty started playing basketball with the Orange Grove Youth Basketball League at the age of 5 and then continued playing through junior high and then on into high school. Although basketball was his main focus, he also played football and baseball over the years. As much as he loved playing sports, he also had a passion for agriculture. Ty was a member of the Orange Grove FFA where he participated in the Jim Wells County Fair from the 3rd grade through 12th grade. Over the years, Ty won many ribbons, banners, and belt buckles. Ty not only showed at his local county fair, but also in various major livestock shows such as, San Antonio, Houston, State Fair of Texas, Austin, San Angelo, and Rio Grande Valley. Being an active member of the Orange Grove FFA, Ty competed in the LDE/CDE FFA teams and served as an officer for three years. Not only was Ty active in sports and FFA, he was also a member of the Academic Club, National Honor Society, and Student Council. After graduation, Ty joined his sister Kalah at Tarleton State University where he was majoring in Animal Science. His aspirations were to go into ranch management. When Ty wasn’t playing sports or doing schoolwork, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and late nights playing Fortnite. To know Ty, was to love him. He had a smile that would light up an entire room, typically followed by one of his goofy jokes. He had the biggest heart and loved those he cared about. He was a hard worker and took pride in what he did. Ty was thoughtful, caring, and kindhearted; just like the good Lord intended His children to be.
Ty is preceded in death by his grandfather, Joe Dale Rokohl, great-grandparents Bobby Pressley, Joe and Nancy Hartley, Butch Dove, and Kenneth Pair.
Ty is survived by his parents, Justin and Katheryne Pressley as well as his sister, Kalah and brother, Hudsyn, his grandparents Kirby and Mary Pair, Michael and Marsha Dove, John and Becky Downey, and Clelleen Rokohl; great-grandmothers Mary Pressley, Carolyn Dove, and Beverly Pair; aunts and uncles, Randall and Jennifer Eulenfeld, Dusty and Tricia Pressley, Beau and Ashley Cherry, Josh Rokohl, Blake and Becky Pair, Tommy and Jessica Rhoades, Michael and Britlyn Dove, Garrett Dove, Bryce Parrock, Cameron and Jennifer Phillips, David and Clelleen Smith; first cousins, Conner, Hailey and Emma Eulenfeld, Quinton and Bellamy Pressley, Brayden and Brody Cherry, Harper Pair, Whitley and Remson Dove, Kendall Cobb, Maddie Gobar and Wyatt Rhoades, Gavin, Emily, and Jackson Rokohl, Jessica, Tyler, and Shelbi McDuffie, Micah, Benjamin, and Kaytlyn Phillips, and Caden and Nathan Smith.
