Vivian Adams Obituary

Vivian Adams was born in Beeville, TX on November 11, 1928. She married Bernard Adams, Jr. In 1946 and moved the Hoffman Ranch in Palito Blanco, in 1951 where she lived until 1977 before finally moving to their present home on the Adams Ranch in Alfred, TX.

She loved hunting and during deer season she would often be sitting in a blind at daybreak or evenings. She was proud to say she could take care of a deer from the bullet to the skillet. She was an excellent seamstress, teaching her two girls to sew, and making their clothes throughout their school years. She was beloved by her children’s school friends because she would always volunteer as a chaperone on their trips. She called a lot of them “her kids” and they called her” mom”. She loved her nieces and nephews on both Adams and Turner side of the family. She would call some of them on a regular basis just to chat, which she loved to do. She loved butterflies and birds, the Cardinal being her favorite.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Bernard Adams, Jr. and grandson, Bernard “Bubba” Adams IV.

She is survived by one son, Bernard “Wig” (Connie) Adams III; two daughters, Joy Custer and Nanci Adams; three grandchildren, Allen (Michelle) Custer, Ronda Custer (E.J. Garcia), and Kami Adams Alaniz; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Burial will be private in the Adams Cemetery in Alfred, TX with a memorial service to follow at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 East Main Street, Alice, Texas.
