Wanda Mae Roach

Wanda Mae Roach, 83, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, in Alice, Texas. She was born in Kenedy, Texas on June 6, 1938 to Tom Harry Kline and Zella Rodgers Kline.

Wanda attended school in Woodsboro, Texas and as a child she helped her family pick cotton. She met the love of her life, Neil Roach, they married in Woodsboro and later moved to Refugio where they started their family. They moved to the Valley and then by 1966 they settled in Agua Dulce.

Wanda began her employment in 1976 with the Agua Dulce Independent School District as a cafeteria worker until her retirement in 1996. She was a member of Agua Dulce Baptist Church, she enjoyed working and tending to her yard, despite those pesky acorns, and feeding her birds, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wanda made every effort to attend all their school and athletic events. She was always their biggest fan. Wanda was a wonderful person who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed along with that dang yellow purse.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 57 years, Neil Roach; daughter, Gwen Brand; siblings, Mary Ruth Tumblinson, J.D. Kline, and Tommy Kline.

Family members left to cherish her memory are children, Rusty (Joanna) Roach of Banquete, Texas and Charlotte (David) Longoria of Agua Dulce, Texas; grandchildren, Joe (Emily) Roach of Bluntzer, Texas, Cody Brand of Bishop, Texas, Jaymee Roach of Dallas, Texas, Marlana (Yasuary) Longoria & grandpup,"Louie" of North Carolina, grandpup, Louie, Megan (Rico) Garcia, and Logan Longoria both of Agua Dulce, Texas; great-grandchildren, Walker Dean Roach, Richie Garcia, Addison Clark, Garcia, and Damien Brand; and sister-in-law, Doris Kline of Victoria, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 20, 2021 followed by a Graveside Service at 11:00 AM at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery officiated by Sandra Riley.

The Roach family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Kim Gosett, Melissa Serros, and caregiver, Smitty Guerra for their love and compassion.
