William “Bill” Foster Stipp, Jr. of Orange Grove, Texas passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at the age of 77. He was born in Dallas, TX on May 2, 1943 to William Foster and Doris Townsend Stipp, Sr.
He married Sharry Ann Riedel in 1967 in Dallas, Texas and they moved to Corpus Christi, TX. After moving there, Bill began working at the Corpus Christi Army Depot where he retired after 25 years as an Aircraft Mechanic Supervisor.
Bill went on to become a homebuilder and established Stipp Construction Company. He built many homes in the Callallen and surrounding areas until he retired for the second time at the age of 70.
He was a hardworking man and an avid fisherman. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, whom he adored, and they lovingly referred to him as “Papaw”. Bill proudly served as a Cub Scout leader, coached Little League, and loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Susie McFall.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sharry Ann Stipp; son, Brian (Karen) Stipp of Robstown, daughter, Dara (Travis) Jenkins of Orange Grove; four grandchildren, Hunter Stipp, Shelby Stipp, Calli Smith, and Brady Jenkins; and sister, Ann Cook of Dallas, TX.
The Stipp family will be celebrating a Memorial Mass at 10:00 A.M., August 29, at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Orange Grove, TX.
The Stipp family would like to send their deepest gratitude to all the nursing and administrative staff of The Drake and Meridian Care Facility. Thank you all for your wonderful, loving, and gracious care.
