Xavier "Harvey" E. Liguez, age 42, passed away following a two-month battle to Covid-19 on Friday, June 18, 2021. He was born on January 20, 1979 in Alice, Texas to Rolando and Belinda Liguez.
Harvey was a graduate of H.M King High School. He worked in the Oil Field as a supervisor, and his fun, loving spirit led him to make many friends in the industry, to whom he called his “brothers”. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He was always ready to offer a helping hand to anyone.
Harvey had a very strong relationship with his family. He loved his brothers and always kept in contact with them. Visits with them brought him joy, smiles and a happy spirit. Harvey had a special relationship with his mother, Belinda, he would call her daily, no matter where he was living or working, and was always ready to go and pick her up for a day visit wherever she wanted to go. He loved his twin sons, Donny and Triston Liguez, they were the joy of his life. He always made an effort to spend time traveling with his sons. They visited many areas of this country, he wanted to make sure that they never missed out on the joy of life.
Harvey is proceeded in death by his son, Harvey Jr. Liguez; grandparents, Roel and Carmen Canales; grandparents, Amador and Ladislada Liguez.
He leaves behind his twin sons, Donovan and Triston Liguez; their mother, Brenda Liguez all of Bishop, TX; His parents, Rolando and Belinda Liguez of Kingsville, TX; brothers, Rolando Jr. (Lupita) Liguez of Hewitt, TX, Hector (Patricia) Liguez of Kingsville, TX, Armando (Velma) Liguez of Bishop, TX, and Juan “JD” (Jessica) Liguez of Odessa, TX; his fiancé, Ruth Perez of Corpus Christi and had also been married to Ozzie Liguez of Alice, TX; nieces, Lucy and Mia Liguez; and Hector Liguez, Jr.; many aunts, uncles and cousins; many, many friends throughout Texas.
Harvey will be greatly missed. His loving spirit, smiling face, and positive attitude will live in all of us. We celebrate his life and the great joy he brought to whoever knew him.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, June 21, 2021 with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St. Alice, TX. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at New Collins Cemetery. The family will have a luncheon following funeral services.
