Kurt George Mann, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 11, 2018.
He was born on February 2, 1931 in Buffalo Springs, North Dakota to Berta and Otto Mann.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. When he was 5 years old, the family moved to Realitos, Texas, and he always said that since the age of 5, he started milking cows on their dairy farm until 2005. In 2005 until his last day, he was a Black Angus Cattle Rancher. He lived in the same house that the family had moved to all those years ago.
He attended school in Benavides, Texas, where he met the love of his life, Doris Jean Jarrard.
George loved his home and his community. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Robert, Ed, Bill, and Norman; and by two grandchildren, Nathan Guerra and Crosby Daniel.
Left to cherish memories of him are his loving wife of 67 years, Jean Mann of Realitos; four children, Dwight (Nancy) Mann of Realitos, Trudy (Ernest) Gildart of Hebbronville, Kurt (Fawn) Mann of Realitos, and Jeannie (David) Vajdos of Agua Dulce; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Edith Wisian of Nordheim, Texas and one brother, Herman (Judy) Mann of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Visitation with family receiving friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2018 with Pastor Robert Garcia officiating at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Realitos Cemetery in Realitos, Texas.
Arrangements are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St., Alice, Texas.
