Ruth Louise Lykins, 85, of Alice, Texas was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 16, 2018.
Ruth was born on February 7, 1933 to Otto and Freida Mae Krueger and was wed in May of 1954 to Chester Monroe Lykins, Jr. Together, they had two sons, Roger Dale (Pam) Lykins and Daryl Glenn Lykins, who died in 1991; and two sons that she loves as her own, Michael Lee Lykins and Jefferson Andrew Lykins.
She was a loving mother and wife, attentive grandmother and great-grandmother, cherished friend and caring aunt. She was an entrepreneur of many businesses along with her husband; with Ruth being best known for their restaurant Chesterís Fried Chicken.
When she wasnít dancing, playing dominos, or cards with her friends and family, she was volunteering with La Vinna and transferred to Christus Spohn Alice for the past 27 years. Ruth was a founding member of the Prissy Chicks Red Hatters Club, which grew to 32 members, and was a member of the Petroleum Wives Club.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Holmgreen Mortuary.
The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at West Main Baptist Church with Brother David Kimberly officiating. Interment will follow at Alice Cemetery.
