Ethredge John Pyle was born on January 11, 1925 in Joaquin, Texas to Ethredge Monroe Pyle and Myrtle Adams Pyle. He passed away in Marble Falls, Texas on August 18, 2018 at the age of 93.
He is survived by Neva Hooper Pyle, wife, “the love and woman of my life”, sons, Rickey Pyle of Corpus Christi, Scott Pyle and his wife Coiece of Marble Falls; granddaughter, Kristi Pyle of Lakeway, granddaughter, Colleen Pyle of San Antonio; grandson, Aaron Pyle and wife Lindsay of Cottonwood Shores and great-grandsons, Coye and Owen Pyle of Cottonwood Shores; sister-in-law, Margarete Pyle of Corpus Christi and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews scattered like quail.
He is preceded in death by parents, Ethredge Monroe and Myrtle Adams Pyle; sister, Nancy Pyle; brother and sister-in-law Coy and Agnes Pyle; brother and sister-in-law, James and Sue Pyle; brother, Allen Pyle and sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Ray Tankersley.
E.J. served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946 during World War II serving in the Pacific. After returning to his hometown, he met Neva Hooper, whom he married and shared a life with for 71 years.
He retired from Halliburton after 31 years and actively pursued his hobby of hunting and caring for the wildlife on the lease. He maintained his sense of humor throughout his life, entertaining friends and family.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 20, 2018 at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel with Robert Allen and Aaron Pyle officiating. Interment will follow in Alice Cemetery.
