Teresa Charles Hinojosa

Teresa Charles Hinojosa, age 100, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. She was born January 7, 1923 in Anna Rose, Texas to Ventura Charles and Cipriana Garza.

Teresa was a home maker. She loved helping her husband bale hay, cooking, quilting and spending time with her family and friends. Anytime friends or family came over she always made sure to put out a large meal.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Juan Manuel Hinojosa; daughter, Marta H. Prezas and all her siblings.

Teresa is survived by her daughters, Gloria Hinojosa of La Rosita, Tx, Isabel H. (David) Barrow of Alice, Tx and Cipriana “Bonnie” (Johnny) Vela of Aransas Pass, Tx; 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Monday, January 30, 2023 at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St, Alice, Texas 78332. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 12:30 PM followed by a 1:00 PM Funeral Mass on Monday, January 30, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Alice, Texas. Rites of Christian Burial will follow at the Pena Cemetery in La Rosita, Texas.
